🎥 Lights, Camera, Collaboration! Nailing Our Marketing Video Project
Hey everyone! 👋 If there’s one thing I’ve learned as a BBA student, it’s that a great group can turn a stressful assignment into a total blast. Case in point: our recent marketing video project—five of us, one goal, and zero drama (miracles do happen!).
This project was for our Marketing class, and the task was simple (but tricky): create a 3-minute promotional video for a hypothetical local snack brand. We were all a little nervous at first—video editing? Scriptwriting? On-camera acting? None of us were pros. But from day one, our team clicked like a perfect puzzle.
We split the work super efficiently: two people brainstormed the brand story and wrote the script, one handled the shot list and location scouting (shoutout to the campus garden for being our perfect backdrop!), another took charge of props and costumes, and I volunteered to edit the final video (thank goodness for free editing apps!). The best part? No one hogged the work or slacked off—we showed up to every meeting with ideas, and we never left a session without checking off half our to-do list.
Shooting day was chaotic in the best way. We laughed until our sides hurt when one of my groupmates messed up his line three times in a row (bless his heart for being a good sport). We ran around campus chasing the perfect golden hour light, and we even bribed a passing friend to be our “random customer” in the video. By the time we wrapped, we had all the footage we needed—and a camera roll full of silly behind-the-scenes photos (the group selfie you see here was taken right after we yelled “that’s a wrap!”).
The editing process was smooth too—we all hopped on a call to pick the best takes, tweak the voiceovers, and add some fun background music. No arguments, no last-minute panics—just teamwork making the dream work.
When we submitted the video, our lecturer gave us a huge thumbs-up and said it was one of the most creative projects she’d seen all semester. But honestly, the win wasn’t just the good grade—it was the fact that we had so much fun doing it.
This project reminded me why group work is my favorite part of university. It’s not just about getting an A—it’s about meeting people who bring out your best, who turn “I can’t” into “let’s try,” and who turn a boring assignment into a memory you’ll laugh about for years.
Shoutout to my amazing five-person team—you guys are the real MVPs. Here’s to more late-night brainstorming sessions and more group selfies (and more good grades, obviously)! 🥳
