🥅 The Great Badminton Class Rush: How I Survived (and Celebrated with Bubble Tea)

Hey everyone! 👋 If you read my intro post, you already know I’m obsessed with badminton — so when UKM’s class registration opened, this was the one course I refused to miss. Let me tell you, securing a spot in this class was basically a battle royale.

🚨 The Chaos of Registration Day

I’d heard horror stories: this badminton class fills up in 10 minutes flat every semester. So I prepped like I was taking an exam:

Woke up 30 minutes early, laptop charged, Wi-Fi tested.

Sat in front of my screen, finger hovering over the “enroll” button.

When the clock hit 8 AM, I clicked faster than I’ve ever clicked in my life.

My heart was racing as I watched the “available spots” drop from 30 to 1 in 2 minutes… and somehow, I got in! 🎉

🎾 First Class (and Beyond): Sweat, Smiles, and Leveling Up

We meet once a week at UKM’s indoor badminton courts — bright, spacious, and always buzzing with energy. Our coach is super detail-oriented, and we’ve been drilling everything from grip basics to footwork patterns. After just a few sessions, I can already feel my game improving: my swings are more stable, and I’m finally getting the hang of those tricky backhand shots! 🥳

But the fun doesn’t stop when class ends. My friends and I love to book the same courts on weekends for casual matches. We’ll play for hours, laughing at our silly mistakes and high-fiving when someone nails a perfect smash. It’s become our favorite way to de-stress after a week of lectures and assignments.

🧋 Post-Class Reward: Bubble Tea & Ice Cream

No victory (or sweaty workout) is complete without a treat, right? After our first class, my friend (who also miraculously got a spot) and I headed straight to the campus bubble tea shop. I got my go-to: classic milk tea with boba (extra pearls, obviously). We also grabbed mango ice cream to cool down.

As we sat there, sipping our drinks and laughing about how we almost didn’t get into the class, I thought: This is what UKM life is all about. The chaos of registration, the fun of leveling up my badminton skills, the joy of playing with friends, and the simple pleasure of sharing a bubble tea.

✨ What’s Next?

I’m already counting down to next week’s class — and I’m definitely bringing extra water (and maybe a spare towel). This course isn’t just about playing badminton; it’s a chance to meet new people, stay active, and take a break from all the business textbooks.

If you’re a UKM student struggling to get into your dream class, trust me: patience, fast fingers, and a post-victory bubble tea will get you through. 😉
